It is Friday - last day of the traditional working week and thus this will be the last edition of the Lunchtime Philosopher for the week.
By the way, happy start of the new month April. As I noted on my Facebook page, April is my favorite month. First, I was born in April. Also, April is the first true month of spring when greenery and warmth start dominating. This is why I called April the Month of the Good Life!
But what is a good life? Naturally, it is at least a bit different for each of us. The best I can do in this post is to try and present my view on the good life.
A good life for me is a life without regrets. It is a life, in which I don't regret that I didn't do something but rather went on and did it. True, I am often disappointed by the result, but I always learn at least two things from every so called failure. First, I learn that the particular approach I used didn't work. Second, I learn something about what approach I should use in the future and whether I should continue going for the same objective.
Another important thing for me in the good life is to live in the present moment. Often we get so lost in past regrets and future dreams or even fears, that we fail to enjoy the beauty of the present moment. And yet, the present moment is the only thing we have. The past is only a memory and the future no one knows anything about. The best I could do is use my experience gather in my past to take actions in the present and enjoy the process. And who knows, perhaps I will be able to get near to my dream future this way?
Have a great weekend and keep living the good life!
