Today, August 18, but in 1227 passed away Genghis Khan, the great Khan of the Mongol Empire. He was the founder of the empire, which was the biggest contiguous state entity in world history up until the present day. You can read more about him here. You can tell that he was a great man. The famous historian Ian Botham said about the great khan:
