Do you ever think too much? I often do. I am not ashamed to admit that. Actually, I have noticed this tendency a while ago and tried to correct it. Of course it isn't easy.
Actually, I spent most of last year doing morning meditation. I like the Zen philosophy that thinking is not necessarily good. Sometimes it's better to feel rather than analyze. The people of Japan, where I currently live, seem to have a natural predisposition not to think too much. On the contrary, the people of Bulgaria, where I come from, perhaps analyze things too much. The more you think, the better, even if that thinking is not directed. Or is it?
My belief is that thought is necessary. However, it has to be directed thought. And how dk you achieve directedness of thought? You have to first empty your mind. Don't think. Feel how that is. Then fill the empty head with concentrated thoughts. Of course, as always this is easier said than done.
But I will keep working on developing the habit of concentrated thought. I think that is connected with peace of mind. That's why I like meditation. It helps me get closer to peace of mind. And peace of mind, of course, is a daily exercise. Did you do your part today?
