Hello friends!
Today might be any kind of day as far as your circumstances, such as weather, bodily condition, the mood of the people around you, and others are concerned. However, what day really it is - the decision is up to you!
So, today's guest is the Master of Enlightenment - The Buddha. In today's inspirational quotation, he said:
"In the confrontation between the stream and the rock,
the stream always wins - not through strength,
but through persistence."
How do you like this quotation? I like it a lot. It is important to be persistent. It is important to be focused. It is important to know what you want and to never give up in its pursuit. This is yet another key to success, after starting off, of course.
So now that we have cleared up the issue of persistence, let's go a little bit into Buddhism and Enlightenment. As I was younger and studied History of Religions, I came across the notion of Enlightenment in Buddhism. What is enlightenment? It seemed both hard and easy to answer this question. Well, enlightenment is becoming superior, seeing things in different ways, reaching newer height of mind and consciousness. Well, that's easily said, but so hard to do. How does one become enlightened? To be honest, there have been times in my life when I have felt enlightened. At that time I told myself, "this is it, this is enlightenment!" Well, now I know I was wrong, because once one is enlightened, he is supposed to never go down again, and I have been down after that. By down I mean unhappy, lost, etc.
So am I enlightened now? I wouldn't use such a strong word yet, but I would definitely say that I am centered. I am focused. I am on my way to enlightenment.
And how about you?
Have a great day!
