Hello friends!
Today is Saturday and I assume that you are well rested after a great Saturday. So what's on for today's post? It is a visit from one of the greatest motivational speakers and authors of our time - Anthony Robbins! Yes, I am sure that you know him.
So here is the piece of wisdom he shares with us:
Whatever you really want, wants don't get met consistently, standards do.
What does this mean? Well, Tony's message has been taken out of his New Year speech, which you could watch at its entirety here.
And now, a little bit of analysis of the quote. We all want to achieve something, to change something in the New Year. There must be something that you want to do this year, regardless of how small or insignificant! Yes, you want something, but wants don't get met consistently - standards do. Until what you want becomes a standard, a must, you will not achieve it. A want is a maybe, a standard is a must. We all want certain things, but for most of them we have already accepted the impossibility of their achievement. But when we must have something, when it is our standard and thus embedded in our being, then we shall get it. It might take some time, but it will be ours.
So I guess that if we want something, we have to make it a standard.
So let me leave you with this question: what are your standards?
