Hello friends!
Here we go - one more day looking at the wealthiest men of all time. It is really interesting. What is the secret of money? Well, you have to be dedicated to it in a way. And does money make you happy? Well, not necessarily. And are all wealthy people bad? Are they good? Well, we have found out so far that there are good and bad ones. And our guest today is of the bad kind.
His name is Marcus Licinius Crassus and he is the earliest figure so far on the list. He managed to accumulate $169.8 billion in his time. And how did he do it? Well, he did it through quite ignoble practices, such as buying people's houses while they were burning for cheap and then rebuilding them, only to lease them back to the old owners. Quite despicable, right? Well, his "friends" had their revenge on him when he passed away by severing his head and pouring molten gold in his mouth. Some might say he got his fair share. Well, you can judge for yourself after reading his biography.
So what do you think about Crassus? I guess that we will not be looking at a quotation by him - not much to learn from a miser. And Christmas is not the time for misery anyways.
Have a great one and see you again tomorrow on Christmas Eve!
