In one of the last days of the year we continue with our journey in the world of the rich. Today we are back in history - well, not as much back as our number 12 Croesus, but we are still in the Middle Ages. Or rather say, we are in early Renaissance Italy and our guests are the Medici family. They were really influential in their time - both as bankers and politicians, even influencing the papacy.
You can learn more about the Medici family here. While I could not find an estimate about their riches, we still know that they were the riches of their time. Well, to give you an estimate of their riches at their highest time, the family had Æ’122,669 by 1457 under Cosimo de Medici.
