The date is August 10, 2022. Nice to meet you. My name is Mrs. Watanabe, and I am a Japanese housewife. I trade the forex markets in my free time. Last month I made more money trading forex than my husband's salary (of course, I did not withdraw my profits, but kept the money in my account as margin in order to be able to trade bigger). I trade using my family's savings through my online forex trading account. Specifically, I have been trading USD/JPY recently. I used to trade AUD/JPY, EUR/JPY, and GBP/JPY, but ever since the USD started giving higher swap income, I have started trading only USD/JPY. Well, not really trading actually. I do not try to time the market as I know that is impossible. I just go long USD/JPY and collect 80 yen per every $10,000 unit bought. So it is actually a double win, as the exchange rate is going up and I also get my passive income. I have been doing a lot of research and have become convinced that USD/JPY is going to reach 150 yen per 1 dollar in a short while. It is a no-brainer trade indeed.
I am currently long $1,000,000 USD/JPY, which means that I get 8,000 yen every day just for holding my position. Furthermore, my income value goes up by 1,000,000 yen for each 1 yen increase in the exchange rate. So if the exchange rate goes up from the current level of 135 to 150, I will make 15,000,000 yen. I am planning to close my positions at that point. Also, do not forget the passive income from swap points I will get until we get to 150. Of course, I did not actually buy $1,000,000 by selling 135,000,000 yen. I do not have that amount of money. Instead, I trade on leverage. Leverage means that my broker lends me money 25:1. So actually my $1,000,000 position is on borrowed money. I have put up just $40,000 (5,400,000 yen) for this trade. I have 6 million yen (currently $44,000) in my account, and I have put up $40,000 of that amount for my trade. My broker gives me 25 times more, which is $1,000,000. That is nice. And I can make 3 times that amount when the exchange rate goes up to 150. Isn't this smart? And beautiful? Yes, it is both smart and beautiful!
Being smart and beautiful is what it is all about. At least that is what my idol Mayumi Torii says. She is a celebrity forex trader in Japan, and I religiously follow her advice. You can check out her blog here (sorry, it is only in Japanese). She did not work at an investment bank or study business in school. But she has been trading the forex markets from 2006 (16 years now), and made a lot of money from that. She has also written several books on forex trading and offers trading courses. She is rich, as you can see from the photos of her houses and cars on her profile. However, I am not really sure if she made her money from actual trading or from teaching people how to trade. But that is not the point.
The point is that I am going to make a 15 million yen profit from my forex trade of USD/JPY going to 150. And I am so excited! Nothing is going to stop me. Why do I have such high conviction in my strategy? Well, it is obvious. The US federal bank is raising interest rates because of high inflation in the USA. I am not sure exactly what is going on in the USA, I have never been there. We have no inflation in Japan as we Japanese do not like to consume much. We prefer saving. But Americans like to consume and spend, which is leading to increasing prices over there. That is why their prices and interest rates are going up, while the Japanese government still keeps our interest rates at 0%. So it is indeed a no-brainer. You invest in countries with high interest rates. It is plain Economics 101. I continue to use my yen to buy foreign currency as the Japanese yen can only go down.
I actually have not really told my husband about this. It is my little secret. I just started trading last month. He is too busy at work anyways. Let him work. He makes 300,000 yen per month working 10 hours per day on a weekday, sometimes also on weekends. That money is not enough for our family's future. So I needed to step up and do something. Now I make over 200,000 yen monthly just from swap income. And I make 1,000,000 yen for each 1 yen change in the USD/JPY exchange rate. Very nice, isn't it?
I am so confident in my trading strategy, that I actually doubled my position this week. I used to have a $500,000 position, but I just added another $500,000. Last week we went lower and tested 130 yen. I was scared a bit, as the move from 135 to 130 lost me 2.5 million yen. Well, not really lost, my position value just went down, but I did not sell. I actually took the opportunity to add to my position. I purchased another $500,000, and now I am looking good, making 1,000,000 yen for each 1 yen move upward. We can only go higher from here. Today is the announcement date for the monthly CPI number, which is predicted to show that inflation in the USA is very strong. As we get another strong inflation reading, the US federal bank will definitely raise interest rates higher. And so the USD/JPY exchange rate will go to 150. I am excited. I can not wait!
I will update you again tomorrow as to how much money I made after the CPI announcement. Now we are at 135. I see 140 next, and higher after that!
