Hi all!
It's a sunny day here in Osaka and I'm writing this from a park in my lunch break.
Today I want to talk about getting something or not getting it. In fact, I posted a short comment regarding this on my Facebook, but the shortness of these Facebook comments doesn't allow proper explanation of one's thoughts. Thus I decided to write this post.
Getting something might refer to anything you want but mostly intangible things - love, success, happiness, etc. We want something so badly that we work ourselves so much about it that we convince ourselves it belongs to us. Imagine yourself liking a girl or a boy very much. By the way everyone is a girl or a boy until they get married for the purpose of this post. So maybe you go on a couple of casual dates with that person. And then you start getting ideas that it is done, that you have them. Assumptions! Kind of suicidal in relationships. You assume that the other person is at your level of thinking. Unreasonable, yes? Yet, I have done it, and somehow I have the feeling I am not the only one.
Fortunately or unfortunately at some point you have to face reality. We have to live in the present at least in our interactions with other people. And then you find out you are out of pace with the other person. Then you have two choices: get angry with for not playing the game by your rules or deciding to get back in touch with reality. Obviously the second option is the better one.
Now here comes the conclusion - even if you don't get what you want this time around, you should known that either it was not the right time yet or you were never meant to have this thing. You simply can't force things! Not in the long term at least. We can only let things come to us by doing our best to create the right circumstances and taking advantage of the opportunities that present themselves. And believing that it's all for the better!
Have a great day!
