Once upon a time, there was a man. He was a very ambitious man. He wanted to achieve great things, so that everyone would know who he was and people would remember him for generations to come.
There were many things he wanted to do. He saw many things, which he knew that could be better. So he decided - he was going to change the world! This is how people would remember him - the person, who changed the world. But where did he start? He figured that changing the world was perhaps too big of a task, but changing his country, now that was something doable. After all, he owed his allegiance first and foremost to his country, so he had to contribute to his country first.
So he started working on changing his country and his country's people. But that turned out to be harder than he had expected. After all, change takes time, right? And perhaps to change a country and its people requires a bit longer than the lifetime of one person. So he decided to zoom in some more and focus on changing his hometown. After all, this is where he came from and he needed to contribute to the improvement of his home-place. There was so much he wanted to do for the people of his hometown, and there was so much he wanted to help them change in the town and themselves!
But again, our friend found that it isn't easy to change others. Perhaps it was too much of a task to change his hometown and its people after all. So he decided to zoom in even further and instead of trying to change a whole town, to try and change his own family. After all, he was the one providing for them, and they at least should listen to him and change for the better, right? Well, it was not that easy either. It turned out that changing another person, even be it family was not that easy, either...
So, almost disheartened, our friend started thinking: "If I can't change others and contribute in this way, what else can I do? Perhaps the only that I could help is by changing myself? This is the only person I have control over, right? And after all, if I change myself for the better, and people like it, they might follow my example."
So, he decided that the best he could do is to change himself and started working on making himself a better human being...

OK, I have no idea what the moral of this story is, but I myself have decided to follow the example of this man and work on changing myself for what I believe is the better way. And maybe I can help bring change for the better to my surroundings as well, who knows?
