Hello friends!
Have you ever thought about life? I am sure you have. So what is life for you? How do you describe it? I recently came up with a very interesting metaphor about life, or at least I think so. Of course, it is not unique or new, but I think that it is very correct.
Life to me is like an ocean. This ocean hides both dangers and opportunities for us. But we are not susceptible to the circumstances of this ocean. We have a choice to stay away from the dangers and to take advantage of the opportunities.
I like to think of the dangers and opportunities of life as waves. There are ascending waves, which lift you up, and descending waves, which bring you down. We can get on one of these waves, or we can choose to stay away. Of course, sometimes the ocean takes us on one of these waves without our agreement, but we can always get off. This is our power of choice.
So how do you know which wave to get on and which to get off? When should you wait and when should you jump in? These are both good questions, and I believe that within these answers is hidden the secret of life. I myself am not completely sure, but I guess that we have to be calm and composed, and in this way we can be objective and judge which the best decision for the moment is. Sure, we will make mistakes. But it is important to not get involved emotionally and admit one's mistakes.
The problem of most people is that they follow the crowd. And what does the crowd do? It follows the crowd. This leads to always being late and wrong. So when a positive wave is forming, the crowd waits until the last moment to jump on. So when everyone jumps on, it is already too late and the wave is going down. But they don't get off. No, the wave will turn. Come on, I just got on, let's be patient, it will get better! Of course, deep inside they know that this is not happening. Their inner intelligence is telling them to get off and forget about it, but emotions keep them from following their inner guidance. This is the human paradox - we have in inborn guidance system, which is flawless, but we most often never use it.
But to finish on a positive note, I am sure that since you are reading this blog post, you belong to the successful group of people, those who refuse to follow the crowd and listen to their inner guidance. Of course, we are not perfect in it yet, but this skill can be developed. Just keep practicing and enjoy surfing the good waves of life!
Have a great weekend!
