Good morning friends!
I might be getting a little too personal at this blog and I would like to apologize if this is bothering you, but I would like to ask you a small question. Do you feel good where you are right now? Yes or No, regardless, please read the following story, which I read somewhere a couple of years ago. Here is my version of this story:
-----------------------------------------------
There was once a man, who was unhappy. He was unhappy with his surroundings. He didn't like the people he was living around. So he decided to leave the town he was living in and find a better environment. So he embarked on a journey. As he was on his way, he arrived at a nice-looking little town. He saw one of the residents outside and greeted him:
"Good afternoon, sir!"
"Good afternoon, traveler! What brings you to our little town?"
"Well, to tell you the truth, I am looking for a place to settle. How is your town like? Are the people friendly here?"
"Well, how were the people in the town where you used to live up till now?"
"Oh, they were bad people, you know, they were the reason I left that town."
"Really? Then I regret that I will disappoint you, but the people in our town are not that good either. You had better keep searching. Good luck!"
So, our traveler continued on his way. But only a few days later, another traveler stopped before the gates of the town and met the same resident of the town. They exchanged greetings as is customary and the stranger asked the inevitable question:
"So, I am traveling and looking for a place to settle. Can you recommend to me your town. How are the people here?"
"Well, traveler, how were the people like in the previous town you lived in?"
"Oh, they were wonderful people, I left many friends behind in that town. I wish I could stay, you know, but I had to move on."
"Then, I have good news for you. The people in our town are very nice people, as well. In fact, let me show you around and introduce you to our little community!"
----------------------------------------------
Interesting little story, right? It kind of shows us that we can feel good in virtually any place if we are in peace with ourselves. I personally would like to take this lesson to heart as I admit that I have been guilty of wondering here and there without settling and always somehow blaming the environment. Now I know it is not the environment and it is me. I simply have not found my inner peace yet.
So how about you? Do you feel good where you are right now?
