Who was born on December 10, 1830?

Hello friends!

Check this statement out, whatever it means:

A wounded deer leaps the highest.

This is quite a romantic statement and must belong to a poet, right? Well, you got it right. The author of this quote was the famous American poet Emily Dickinson, who was born on this date. She lived quite a peculiar life, about which you can find out more here.

And now, back to the quote of the day. I am entirely sure what Dickinson meant by the above statement and I can only offer my interpretation, so here it is. I see this statement as saying that the one who fails bounces back the highest afterwards. Therefore, we should not fear failure but rather welcome it as a necessary learning experience on the way to success. After failure, we can leap even higher!

Have a high jump today, even after a deep dive!
