Hello friends!
It is another great day and we are almost there! Almost where? You will find in the next posting. However, now is the time to discuss a quotation:
Common sense is not so common.
The author of this satirical quotation is the famous French philosopher from the 18th century Voltaire. His name is definitely well-known, but in case you want to learn more about the person behind the name, you can do so here.
And now we can discuss the quote above. Yes, the expression common sense means something, which is shared by everyone and accepted by everyone as necessary. Is that the case, however? Well, it was not true in 18th century France and we could argue that it is not true in 21st century world as well. True, there are certain things, which are supposed to be accepted and followed by everyone, but these are only expectations and things are quite different in reality. Why is that? Well, because everyone says, Oh, since everyone is doing it, then I could do it, too. And then common sense becomes uncommon.
So do yourselves and humanity a favor and help to turn the new tendency of uncommonization of common sense. Let's get it back to normal!
