Hello friends!
Well, I kept my promise, didn't I? I am happy to be posting here today, and I will continue to follow through tomorrow as well.
So here is our quotation of the day:
It's the people who try to be clever who never are; the people who are clever never think of trying to be.
The author of this quote is Gilbert Parker, who was born on this date. He was a Canadian novelist and British politician from the later 19th and early 20th centuries. You can read more about his biography here.
But again, our focus on this blog is not the people, but the memorable words they uttered. So let's discuss the words of the author. This seems like a complicated subject. Being clever and not being clever. Well, you know some people who wish to be more clever and try to present themselves as clever every day. Because they realize they lack something, they try to compensate. The clever ones, on the other hand, have nothing to compensate for, and so don't need to show off. They simply act the way they do without attempting to appear clever. So, which one of the two are you? Don't try too hard!
