Hello friends!
I am sure that you are aware of the Nobel Prize. Also, many of us have the name Nobel as meaning something Noble. But it was not like this in 1888, when a premature obituary was published for Alfred Nobel, the Swedish scientist pictured here. He was described as a merchant of death, who deserved to die. He then learned his lesson and made sure that he leave a better legacy for himself. That's why he asked for the founding of the Nobel Prize with his will money. The rest of his life story you can read here.
So here we go for today's quotation by our famous man:
Hope is nature's veil for hiding truth's nakedness.
To be honest, I am not sure exactly what is meant here, but I will give you my interpretation nonetheless. Truth is naked. But hope is our way of deceiving ourselves, sometimes for the good. Hope never dies. So I guess that it is a good type of veil. What do you think?
